Reflections from this morning...

Dear Campers,

     

Mr. Wiersbe says it like this, "If you want to make a living, you get training; and if you want to make a life, you add information and education.  But if you want to have a ministry for God, you must have devine gifts and devine help.  Training and education are very important, but they are not substitutes for the ability and wisdom that only God can give." - Warren W. I say it like this, "Get a new skill to make you be better at your job; and learn something new to make your life "fierce".  Pray for God to reveal your devine gifts to you and then begin to use them.   Surround yourself with people that allow your gifts to sparkle!  Be brave in trusting the abilities that God gave you and rely on His unstoppable wisdom." - Amy McKay

 

I pray that your day be filled with little opportunities to be stronger, kinder, braver, unstoppable and FIERCE!  See you dark and early Friday.  Remember that we will meet on Monday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 14.

I wanna be like Daniel...

Dear Campers,

     

Hi my strong friends!  Great job with the workout yesterday.  I know that jumping over your weights, or anything, can be scary at times.  Thank you for responding with an open mind and lots of courage.  As we move into week three of this session of RBC, I wanted to take a moment and remind you that this week our focus is being just as brave as Daniel was.   As I continue to read and learn about all the wonderful things this man did, I am inspired to be stronger, more prayerful and braver.  In the book that I am reading about Daniel, the author, Warren Weirsbe, reminds us that, "when it comes to solving the problems of life, we must ask God for the courage to face the problem humbly and honestly, the wisdom to understand it, the strength to do what He tell us to do, and the faith to trust Him to do the rest."   

     

I would ask for your prayers of strength, kindness, bravery in an unstoppable way for the family of Amy Cline.  Amy died on Monday.  She had been battling stomach cancer for nine months.  He mother said it best when she said that, "Amy found victory over cancer" on Monday.  She was a 22 year old woman that was loved my so many in the Granbury and Tarleton communities.  She was studying to be a special education teacher at Tarleton and was going to graduate this May.  She was loved by so many children and our boys were two of them.   Amy's bravery and faith was the cornerstone of her story.   She will be missed.  Amy Cline lived FIERCE.

Fierce...

Dear Campers,

It was so good to be with each of you yesterday morning at RBC. The week off was very restful for me but I am ready to jump back into what we do best. This session we will be studying the book of Daniel. Daniel is an Old Testament book that follows the experiences of Daniel and three of his friends. Much like Ruth, Daniel finds himself in situations where his faith is tested multiple times. He has been characterized by his faith, powerful prayers, courage, consistency and most importantly, his lack of compromise. He held on to his faith through outrageous circumstances. It is my hope that during our time together over the next six weeks each of us gets stronger, kinder, braver, begins to feel unstoppable and truly begins to live a FIERCE life !

If you are sore today...good! If you are not sore at all, then you didn't work hard enough yesterday. For a few of you, it's time to get new and heavier dumbbells. I would rather you miss a few reps and be challenged then to breeze through with nothing new! Remember that you should be drinking close to a gallon of water each day. Staying hydrated is the key to so many locks! Tomorrow punches will fly and iron will be thrown!

It's not too late to join us if you missed on Monday....we are still your people! See you dark and early.

Dear Campers,

    

Great job this morning during the workout.  It should have been a reminder that our bodies need us to do weight training and God need us to to wait training!  Imagine how Ruth must have felt as she waited through the night at the feet of Boaz.  Her entire future, as well as Naomi's, was waiting on the decision of this man as he slept on the threshing floor.   The joy in this story is that her waiting patiently worked out in her favor.  Through patience and endurance we can find the perseverance to live out God's plan for each of our lives...just like Ruth did.

     

Remember that Friday is Backpack Workout Day.  Please refrain from bringing corn or green beans.  Peanut butter really is one on the best choices to meet this need.  Thank you so much!

Journey home

Dear Campers,

     

Awesome job during the workout yesterday.  It always feels so good to start the week with a great story and and a good workout.  For me, it helps to set my priorities for the week that lies ahead.  If you have not checked in with your boot camp buddy in a few days, today would be the perfect day to reconnect and encourage our faithful, fit friends.

     

This morning in our biblical journey we learned that Naomi encouraged her daughters-in-law, Ruth and Orpha to return to their parents homes.   She told them that she was going to return to Bethelehem because she had heard that the famine was over.  Naomi felt like she could live out the rest of her life in her old home town.  She thanked both of the girls for their love and service.  Orpha lovingly kissed Naomi goodbye and went on her way to return to her family, but Ruth insisted on staying with Naomi through the journey home and helping her build a new life in Bethelehem. 

    

Now is the time for introspection.....  Do you tend to be more like Orpha or Ruth?  Are there situations in life when it is okay to be like Orpha?  Do you have "Ruth" friends and "Orpha" friends?  Is a combination of the best possible situation?  Can an "Orpha" relationship still bring you joy?  What is the true lesson to be learned from the story?  Just think and pray about it and the answers will come. 

     

I don't know if you have seen the signs about the traffic being re-routed from 377 to 51 through the square.  I have called the Granbury Street Dept to find out exactly where the closure will be.  I think that 51 will be accessible by going by Decker Gym from the west and by the Post Office from the east.  They have not returned my call yet.  If those routes will not work, I will send another email to let you know.  It might be a good idea to give yourself an extra minute or two in the morning.  I can't wait to see you dark and early tomorrow morning.

I'm with you!

Dear Campers,

     

I just wanted to let you know that there is a 100% chance of rain tomorrow morning at 5:00 AM and inform you that this will not prevent you from attending RBC!!!  Make the commitment right now!   Allow for a few extra minutes of driving time and be careful.  (*Remember all our prayers for rain?)    Also, we get to meet two important people tomorrow morning.   Until your heart find a home, I won't let you be alone...I'm with you!
